ABOUT LISA
As a dancer I started practicing Pilates mat work in college. After a chronic hamstring injury I explored Pilates based physical therapy where I was first introduced to the Reformer and other apparatus and I fell in love! Pilates was the answer for my rehab, with a long-term solution and a way to maintain balance in my body. I realized I would need to practice it forever. This inspired me to become an instructor and share with others what had helped me so much.

I completed the 500-hour Peak Pilates comprehensive teacher training in 2015. Since then I have studied hundreds of additional hours of Pilates from multiple teachers, physical therapists, and movement educators. I am also a certified Lagree Fitness instructor, which is a contemporary Pilates based method of high-intensity muscular endurance training, and I am certified in the Bloom Method for pre and post-natal training.
Prior to teaching Pilates I was a dance instructor for 12 years, where I studied and corrected movement and alignment in young bodies. For the past 7 years as a Pilates instructor I’ve worked with all ages of clients, including young dancers, and others focused on rehab, managing pain, neurological conditions, improving sports performance, or to stay strong during and following pregnancy. Because I came to Pilates as the result of being injured, I deeply understand how difficult it can be to start a new movement practice, so I will always be sensitive to your individual needs and help make movement fun.
